Why should I use alpaca fiber instead of other
fibers?
Because it is really nice to work with! There are lots of technical things I could tell you. But you are the
one working with your hands. Why not work with really nice materials?
These are materials I have developed for myself to use in my art projects. I happen to have a lot of alpacas
and way more ideas than time to make art. So my personal stash is large enough to share and make available to other artist.
Providing alpaca fiber is also how our alpacas earn their keep around here. They have a very comfortable
life in exchange for their fiber. Use alpaca! Keep our alpacas self sufficient!

Our goal is to produce quality materials and inspiration for the artist in us all.
After spending five years processing 100's of pounds of alpaca fiber
from all over the country, it finally dawned on me why I like working with my fiber better. Obviously, I happen to know each
of the alpaca contributors personally. But then it is up to me. Quality control begins with the shearer who removes the fiber
from the alpaca and on our farm, that is yours truely. From there it is hand washed, dyed, picked, carded and packaged by
Elsa Leyden and her farm staff (mostly dogs).
