When I have time, this is what happens... usually, I start a sculpture with a vague idea of what it will be. I never know WHO it will be. Sometimes, it seems I should introduce myself when I am done.

Most of these pieces are sold or were commissioned art. They range in size from five to thirty inches and twenty-five to three hundred dollars. Visa & Mastercard orders by phone only.

The technique used for most of the pieces on this page is needle felting using a sharp, 3 inch, directionally barbed needle. Fibers catch in the barbs as you pierce through, causing them to pull in with the needle. As you repeat this motion, the fibers become more and more entangled. You can use the tool to apply surface design or you can sculpt the fibers into 3 dimensional forms like molding clay. The larger sculptures are built around a wire fame.
